You Should be able to get much cheaper web hosting today

These days the resources needed to offer web hosting has become much much cheaper but a lot of web hosting companies are still offering web hosting at the same prices they were offering it over 8 years ago. This is unbelievable. I guess they don't think people can be smart enough to get the information they need about cheaper web hosting.. For example Yahoo was offering web hosting at $12 a moth 8 years ago. They are still offering it at that price today. The may reduce it a bit if you are willing to pay for a whole year.
So how come these hosting companies don't want to reduce their prices even though giga bytes space RAM memory and just about everything else has become a lot cheaper. It must be pure greed and off-course they are relying on deception too.
